  • Only the main Amazon account holder can completely connect devices to Alexa account. A sub user associated to main account holder's acct doesn't have ability to do that. Eg connecting a smart plug or smart light to Alexa. Nothing in Amazon or Alexa documentation says that. We thought our smart plug was defective for a week when I tried to get it to work with wife's alexa. I'm a sub acct on hers and couldn't get it to complete the setup. Finaly on a whim unused wife's device / acct and it setup no problem. Amazon needs to make this more apparent.
  • Used to work ok but since my phone upgrade to Oreo it keeps crashing and shutting down. Amazon you need to get a fix asap!!!!
  • Huge lag in performance. Screen freezes while trying to make selection. Crashes when trying to make selections in settings.
  • Constantly crashes on start up, if I install a version before the new communication addition it works fine, please fix this! I used to rely on this as my go to shopping list and task tracker.

  • Can't even connect it to Wi-Fi now. I'm pretty tech savvy, but in setup, once I connect my phone's Wi-Fi with Alexa, I can't get past the screen telling me to do so.

Can turn alarms on and off without it freezing and crashing when you pick and alarm time. 9/9/17- wow it's sad that am app revolving around the Amazon echo system is this buggy. You still cannot select and edit alarms without it freezing constantly. This happens on my brand new iPad as well as my year old android phone. App constantly crashes. Very poorly designed app.
  • App has stopped working Used to work great, but with the latest upgrade the app has completely stopped working. Very frustrating.
  • Alexa is great, App needs polish I never thought I would even use this app until I got sick and lost my voice. Sometimes clicks/touches don't register. After listening to Pandora for a while I have to close and reopen the app to skip a song because it gets visually stuck on the old song. Just very frustrating.

  • Since last update, multiple parts of the Alexa app are not working and shutting down. DropIn and most communication commands cause the units to malfunction and shutdown.

  • Horrible Update - Please Fix!! When I run the app on my Galaxy S5, it never wants to stay connected to the hardware. It keeps forcing me to re-pair the Echo to the app. This is so inconvenient!! I never had this problem before the update came out.

  • Cannot maximise use of this app due to Amazon household policy. I have one household set up with another Prime customer to share Kindle books. This means I cannot have another household with a different Prime customer to share an Echo. I am also a Prime customer. Surely Prime customers should be able to be part of multiple households? To add insult to injury, if I leave my Kindle household I cannot join another household for 180 days. This ia pointless Amazon bureaucracy.
  • Used to be amazing but had really come to junk. Every time i go to my settings it just loads forever! So annoyed! You'd think with growing pressure from Google Home and others that Amazon would step up their game. Time to try the competition.

  • This app makes setting up an echo device very easy and fast. Also gives you access to Alexa from your phone or tablet. Also allows you to call and message Alexa devices from your contact list.

  • I bought the alexa before the calling feature. Now it will not let me update the app without enabling that feature. That is Insane!!! I unistalled and gave the damn thing away.

  • Clunky confusing interface. Would be enhanced if you added a search bar for specific albums you are looking for. That's a no brainer for the developers to fix. A back button should be added too instead of a home button
  • It connects to Alexa back end. But it is soooo slow and laggy. Trying to manage a Dot or Echo sometimes will lock the app up totally.

  • Was working great. Then app only showed the home tab and the media tab, but they were blank. I could not get to any other section. I am currently trying to uninstall it, but this far it's still uninstalling after 10 minutes. Hopefully a reinstall will fix problems.

  • I used to love this app... I use my Alexa mostly for listening to music. I used to be able to control the volume & music selection from the app, which was awesome. I'd just put the Alexa in my window and could work outside without having to go in to make changes to her. I could select music while floating in my pool. But now it just says "app support unavailable" which, for me, make this app completely useless.
  • App was ok before, not the best but was working at least. Since update to Oreo it force closes when I try to modify alarms. The Oreo developer window started a while ago, I have a hard time understanding how Amazon didn't check to make sure basic functions work in the new environment. How did this not get tested or even detected during basic debugging? I'll update my review when you update the App you require customers to use for the device they bought from you.

  • The app tells me to update Chrome, but Chrome is set to auto-update so should be up to date. I even tried uninstalling Chrome and reinstalling updates.

  • It's ace!! I love it . Great that you can ask Alexa anything. Plays music, says good morning, sings a song and will even tell me a dodgy joke or two.
  • Still no option to search for songs or artists in Amazon Music. Only reason why I tried it out is because I'm waiting on everywhere playback to support Spotify.
  • Failed during configuration. On my LG G4 it could not complete the stage where it completed connecting up. All I got was a white page and the 'busy' pointer. And, yes, I did try switching the phone off and on again. The only way I completed the setup was to install the app on my Amazon Fire tablet and run it there. After that, the app works fine on both this phone and the tablet. Very pleased with the Echo device itself, I must say.
  • Could be so much better This app is buggy, slow, freezes, and non user friendly. The layout is not logical and too much time is spent finding your way around. Lots of minor annoyances too, for instance when going through each spoken command it defaults to the first command every time. The home page is a waste of space when everything of any use is jumbled 3 or 4 presses away. This app needs an overhaul.
  • Very glitchy and kills the battery. My long awaited Echo back in the box and am uninstalling the app. I had all the problems everyone below is reporting. The battery drain is incredible. My S7 will go a couple of days without a recharge, this app sucked it dry in hours. Very poor Amazon.

  • For some reason, ALL my Amazon apps are refusing to update... -505 error. Ive tried clearing data and cache for google play services and all the other suggestions, and none solve the problem. Other apps update fine, just AMAZON apps are impacted. I even did a factory reset on my phone, which allows me to install the app but once an update comes, none of Amazon apps will update. If i uninstall they won't re-install either.
  • As of Sept. 1st's update my app won't open all the way. I can no longer get to my lists,music or frankly anything else because the menu button doesn't appear. I've had problems opening everything before, it was fixed and now it's broke again. Very Frustrating!!!
  • Loved it before, would have given five stars, but now I can't use the app without being forced to redirect my voice mail to them, which I will never do. If they don't provide a way to avoid the phone option soon, I'll just switch to Google home

  • Oh boy, you can use this app to setup Alexa and that's it. As for Alexa, you can skip the purchase. Go with google home! Bought three Alexas to control lights. That barely works! What ever you ask, Alexa won't know. Surprisingly google will. Try to setup family account (2 kids), can't do it (not supported). Voice recognition is horrible, but better than Ford sync. Waste of time and money
