SIMILAR PLAY APP STATS

The app seemed to work okay earlier, but there is a bug where any slewing speed above 6 sticks when you hold down the button. But now that I have Android 11 nothing works at all the app flashes and closes. Have reinstalled have tried to contact the developers, no reply. The low one star rating is because the app doesn't work at all

2.0.13 is hopeless, mount just jerks when trying to slew. Fallen back to 1.19.16 again, the last version that seemed to work.

It's just impossible to do a proper alignment; e.g. I start a 2 stars align. but for the second star it's impossible to confirm the position because clicking on the confirm button (the one with a star and a thick mark) does just nothing!

App fails to load on my Google pixel 3 phone. Extremely disappointed.

does not work. freezes all the time. could not even align the scope because the app froze every time. after 90 minutes I went back to the hand held mount controller. Just to clarify, my mount is an Skywatcher EQ6 Pro, so it should work like a champ.

Crashes before it even opens. App won't work on an S21 Ultra Samsung

Used the app in the past fine but it no longer works on Android 11. Needs a fix/update. The app opens and then immediately closes down.

Far better than using the hand controller, however, there is an issue with tracking. After initiating a Goto, the mount will track the target for a few seconds and then stop! To overcome this you need to find where it says Point and Track after the Goto slew. It has been reported on SGL that it does this on the Star Adventurer and another Alt-Az mount. It does it on my AZ-EQ6 when I use the Wi-Fi dongle and in Alt-Az mode. Seems to work fine though in equatorial mode. Edit 07/09/18: It appears to have had an update recently. Not checked if the point and track thing still needs doing. However, after a 3 star alignment it always fails! I always pick 3 easy recognisable stars so I'm not mistaken. Done a 2 star alignment last night and it was flawless with Goto afterwards. Still at 4 stars until it's sorted!

Had to revert back to 2.0.6. My SynScan Go-To mount would not respond to the app even though it was connected. Was hoping to find out if the WiFi connection timeout issue was fixed. My Galaxy S22 Ultra on Android 12 disconnects in exactly 15 minutes when using SkySafari unless I keep switching apps......

HOW I FIX THE PROBLEM! I bought a skywatcher AZ GTI mount with telescope. I've been unable to get the software to work on my Samsung 12.4 tablet, like many others. It opens and then automatically closes. skywatcher has been of little help and don't appear to support the software going by other reports of the same issue. The FIX... I return The telescope for a refund and went and bought a Celestron equivalent as it works for my Samsung.

Great program, I think. I just cannot find any objects in sky. Alignment goes ok with 3 stars but then it cannot find even the moon.

A good app but the developers should stop the phone timing out the app and disconnecting. This is a real problem when used with Stellarium on my HEQ5 pro with a SynScan WiFi dongle. This activity puts SynScan Pro into the background and eventually my Samsumg S10 decides shuts it down to save power. A simple fix but it requires jumping between the apps to keep them active or restarting the app then Stellarium when it times out.

It opens and appears to run perfectly on my Pixel 6 - but won't react to the buttons when manually aligning the target, which, overall, makes it next to useless for observation as you can't align it or home in on a target.

Did something happen to this app? It use to work flawlessly now it won't even open on pixel xl2 reinstalled cleared catch but no luck.

This app crashes as soon as I click the button to launch the app. I just ordered the wifi dongle for my scope... Hopefully an older device I have lying around will work for this otherwise I just wasted $70

The App is OK for the basics - but is fatally flawed for the Camera Control. Even if the app is granted permissions to run in the background, the moment the Android screen display goes off the camera intervals stop working. Most Android phones/tablets have a max "screen on" time of 10 or 20 minutes, which is way too short for a long exposure series.

Better than the hand held console. I did not get it to run on the latest Android releases (specifically 11), but I used one of my old phones with Android 10 and it works fine. I find it much easier to use than the console, and has a few additional features (e.g., Point and Track). But I really wish they would update it to run on current Android systems.

This app didn't work (kept crashing) had to download the apk file from the skywatcher download page directly. Worked once I did.

Bought a tracker mount and downloaded this app and it doesn't work. People have said this app does not work on android yet the developers still haven't fixed the issue. WHATS GOING ON DEVELOPERS??

Broken after android 11. On Pixel 3a crashes immediately. On Fire tablet, buttons stick so you are constantly fighting the app to stay on target.

Does not work correctly in eq mode. Very limited. Worked in az mode before.

App worked great up until Android update 11.0, now it refuses to open. Please fix. My scope is useless without this app.

Worked until Android 13 and deserved 4 stars. This app worked very well with my AZ-GTi mount. However, when my Pixel 4 suddenly upgraded to Android 13, the app's arrow controls no longer functioned correctly. I can still use the Windows version on my laptop but the phone app is useless. I hope an upgrade for Android 13 will come soon.

Will not start

Does not work on Samsung S20 FE runnning Android 11. As many others report it quickly shows the splash screen and then closes the application. The same thing happens on my OnePlus 5T running Android 10.

Much nicer to use than the handset.

Both the standard and Pro will not work on my upto date mobile. WHEN I open, there a quick flash of the screen opening and then it shuts down. Rather annoying, since this firm is not keeping up with technology, they should include a warning. I have however an older tablet, which does have this app on and is running. So Astronomers, don't throw away that old phone, keep it for synscan.
