SIMILAR PLAY APP STATS

The shopping list is terrible. Since it moved from Keep to Home it has lost a ton of useful functionality. The fact that I cannot even re-arrange my list is incredibly frustrating. Also, Home light cntrl is glitchy, says it doesn't know what light I'm talking about when that same phrase/has worked a thousand times before. Then it suddenly works again. It almost certainly has something to do with the fact that there are somehow 30 lights and rooms listed in the app when I only have about 5 lights in my house on Hue. Why does it list every dime setting as a separate light? Why is it so God-awfully difficult to edit the lights once programmed?

After the update, I can rarely connect with Netflix. The majority of the time, the cast icon doesn't show. When I am able to connect, immediately after playing something, the controls disappear from my dropdown menu. When I am not connected to anything, I get a constant notification that chromecast is not connected and I cannot remove this message. Once great, this app needs lots of bug fixes.

Used to cast news to Chromecast. With newest update can no longer use news feed as an ambient mode. Goes against most of the purpose I initially got it.

Updated:After the new update that takes away it's usefulness of the phone being a hotspot and running app from hotspot. It sucks. You've made it worse You broke something that was useful to alot of people. Can't even mirror screen anymore. Still broken

Rarely works. My viewing selection just keeps circling and won't download. It is easier to go directly through another app such as Hulu and bypass the chrome cast app altogether.

Google please fix this! Why is it that Alexa can play a song but you cannot! Always play the wrong music, cannot figure out what you say most of the time, cannot cast correctly...sorry Alexa is so much more accurate and worth the $. Wish I could trade it all in for Amazon's solution.

Well, here's $35 I'll never get back. First off, the concept is great - cast movies and YouTube media from your phone or tablet to your flatscreen in full HD. Except for the unredeemable bug (or undocumented feature) that randomly causes the Chromecast app on your device to lose its link to the dongle. So what you're left with is a video playing on your TV that you can no longer control with your device. Sometimes you can close the app you're casting from and reset the casting by playing a new video (or restarting the one that "jumed off the rails"), but usually, you have to power off the TV, unplug and power off the Chromecast, plug everything back in and start over. Not exactly the ideal picture of easy fun for the end user. I have both a Nexus 4 (made by Google) and a Samsung Galaxy tablet, and both experience the same issues. YouTube, Plex and Soundcloud are the only apps that I normally use - and they all spawn this errant behavior, which tells me it's a Chromecast issue and not the fault of any one particular casting app. Basically, this could be a wonderful little gadget, but it fails on the fundamental level. You get what you pay for.

N900A Volume bug When controlling the volume it'll show the volume control for Chromecast when I'm just connected to a Bluetooth device. Seems to happen when I'm connected to my home network, even though the devices with Chromecast are off.

barely functioning with Note 8! after the last update debacle, Google manage to make it WORSE and EVEN LESS RELIABLE, ridiculous

I think this app is really great, but I am having only one problem and that is whenever I say the words to activate it my phone activates at the same time. What would be nice is if just the device where to come to life and not my phone at the same time because they both want to answer my question. Can this be fixed?

Broken. Used to work with google play now only works with youtube

Don't buy Google home. Was working fine, now getting worst and worst. Also the Chromecast not able to connect. So disappointing Google.

Just like all the others I'm finding this last update isn't good. After a fight to get it to actually show Netflix/iplayer/Now Tv it just bombs out after 5 minutes. If this is Google's way of trying to get me to upgrade then unfortunately they're only going to force me to go for an amazon stick instead.

good simplified integration & personalization as is. NB: aside your network.. choice of devices (..+app +updates) will affect integration and is not related to Google home app. - Look up hass.io for added functions.** Suggestion features roll-out in USA only should be rolled in all available countries at very least North America sooner.

Last update screwed up the app. YouTube is not detecting Chromecast, not on my phone neither on my spouse, so clearly the app has problem.

I like the app and love both my Google home and home mini but since my phone doesn't support the Google assistant I can't take advantage of some of the newer features such as the routines. Along with this due to a recent glitch/update I have had to turn voice match off in order to control my Philips Hue lighting. This has only happened in the last 24hrs but still not good as my partner is a wheelchair user and uses the voice control for the lighting all of the time.

I am not able to avail the free subscription (till October 2018) of Gaana and Saavn App, which comes along with Google home mini device. Kindly Help.

This has been a good app until recently. Since the most recent update, my family and I have had trouble. Google home no longer realizes if something is playing on the tv, doesn't realize my plugs are on or off, or cant find something on YouTube that's been found in the past no problem. Used to hear me no problem talking normally in the room, some days feel like I have to yell for it to hear me. Not sure if it's the app or the actual google home mini that's causing the issue, but it definitely correlates with the update since the middle of last month.

I installed the Google Home app on my new Samsung 9S+ and tried to set up my Visio TV with Chromecast built in. It found my tv and set it up, but won't let me use it. Says my app needs updated, but I just installed it and it doesn't show any available updates!?! So at this point it's useless to me 😡

I used to like this but since the update it will no longer detect my smart tv.

Worked on my galaxy s9+ till it updated. Now it sees my devices but wont connect.

This is an amazing device and app for entertainment, but in my case I'd hoped to be able to steam my presentations on the class projecter but the screen casting feature doesn't seem to work properly, I searched online for solutions but it seems many people are having the same problem as me with it disconnecting frequently, I hope the google team will be able to resolve this problem soon as I was really looking forward to using this feature as it makes for a productive use of this technology.

I obly have the chrimecast dongle, and this update doesn't see it, most if the time. I was able get it to work once, but it only wanted videos. I wanted to ahow my family some pictures......FAIL

Does not open on my LG V30 and always crashes when i try. I have tried a full uninstall and reinstall to no success.

Love my chromecast ultra but since the latest update I have been unable to connect it. It keeps telling me my s9+ and chromecast ultra are not on the same wifi network. I have gone through all the solutions your help section has offered and still no resolution.

It's unbearable that during the slideshow on Chromecast I can't have any information about the picture like for example where is the panorama or what kind of flower is!!!!

I dont like that I have to have wifi to use the Chromecast and I dont like it that I cannot use my phones hotspot for the wifi of the chromecast, i migjt even just return the chromecast to the store where I bought it cuz its useless for me since I dont have wifi and I really dont wanna pay 50 dollars just for wifi alone

I'm really having issues with the app in android specifically. I can't click the other options on the left (e.g. Home control) using my note 9 and xz2 compact (when i had it last time). But ios app is working fine. I hope you can address the issue.

It's astounding that Chromecast Ultra will not work with a Google Pixel phone unless you are on a separate network. I bought the Chromecast to use when traveling, thinking I could cast from the phone using the hotspot feature - you can't. Many motels don't have a strong enough WiFi signal for streaming, but most places have a sufficient VZ signal. I had to buy a Roku to be able to stream from the hotspot feature of the phone. How can a competitor devise a system that streams from a Google phone, and Google can't? I give it 2 stars because it works fine at home where both devices are on my home WiFi, but I seldom use it. Roku is superior in every way.

In the last week it has stopped casting Google play movies. Seeing as it is a GOOGLE product you'd think it would work better with their own apps. I have purchased a movie and a tv show. It will start the cast and then stop at 80% and won't budge. I have tried factory reset, uninstalling the app and reinstalling. Casting direct from the app and from play movies. All of my devices are up to date and the casting works with Netflix, Crave and YouTube but not google. Total waste. Not impressed at all. I emailed about it and got no response.

I'm having connection issues with Chromecast audio. It says I'm connected but won't play music or it doesn't let me connect at all. Also the YouTube app is not compatible which stuns me.

Turnes to unusable mess after the last update. Choose between daily reset of all Chromecast Audio devices or no use at all.

Doesn't work properly. Can't mirror without an external router. Worst product for the price from Google. Old version of app was better than this one.

It works perfectly easy. Edit: I have so many problems with spotify. It is constantly getting disconnected and won't connect again. It shuffles while it shouldn't and randomly the volume goes up all the way. I'm starting to regret buying this

Just randomly stopped Worked fine for months even through a move. Getting to the new house it worked great for a week and now just keeps popping up the setup screen and can't connect to the WiFi at all. Haven't changed anything for there to even be problems. Very unhappy please figure out issues soon.

Great app. Amazing app! One issue I face though, my partner has this on her iPhone and has access to alot more settings and options than my android based Sony xperia xz does! Am I missing something?

Pretty useful app, but it has stopped working with my Philips hue lights. Pretty much the only reason I got a Google home...

Good app but really need better support of third-party device like the Lenovo Smart Display, Insignia Smart Speaker, cameras... Need audio group, drop in feature...

Since the up date will not connect to my Chromecast at all. Stupidly frustrating as have followed all the instructions a million times and still won't work

My only gripe is you can't separate the sound from the video. It'd be nice if I could cast something to my chromecast while still listening on my bluetooth headphones paired to my phone.

Won't let me set up to connect on Samsung s7. I even bought a 2nd chromecast incase but that won't work either so it's this app that is the problem. Very frustrating

Some people don't have WiFi and use their hotspot from their phone so how am I supposed to connect this to my Chromecast if I'm using a hotspot and not wifi. I found a way to connect my Chromecast using my hotpot luckily but I still can't use this app from my phome

I'm addicted to streaming because I hate commercial and I hate waiting to see what happens next and with this app I can control what I watch when I want to watch it and how much I want to watch.

It's a hot mess compared to Alexa. YouTube doesn't comprehend well nor does it work well with YouTube TV. Planning on switching back to the Alexa interface which works much much better than Google and frankly Google ignores every attempt to get it right...
