    Edited: I've given my review before and it was not there weirdly, but, another issue I'd address other than the crates would be the button timing. Idk if it's a bug of some sort but, when I'd expected to get a 'perfect' at least, it somehow became just 'great'. I'm pretty confident that this wasn't supposed to happen. This game has a lot of potential so please fix this issue (and the crates, really bad move in my opinion).

    Just discovered this and I was absolutely in love, made me smile for over an hour straight, until all my box slots were full and I wasn't allowed to play, according to other reviews that wasn't always an issue. Well it is now. The game essentially bars you from playing until you open a box, either by waiting a long wait, or by paying with the premium currency of the game. This shows clearly the path the game wants to head and that is very unfortunate. Theres so much potential, but you cant play.

    TLDR: the game follows the usual predatory system of monitization. It's simple, it's easy to get into. But it will try to milk you for what you're worth. The ads aren't bad, but they adopt systems where one simple mistake is a failure, but they don't teach your highest combo. So they want to be a rhythm game but also a tile game at the same time. You will learn quickly that you can unlock 3/5 a song every 5s but then it increases to every 5mins. Then every 1 and a half hours.

    Not a bad game. However, a LOT of things can be improved. I personally have no problems with the ui, and the graphics of the game but I can sse that further down the line, it seems that it's gonna be heavy p2w soon with the whole "unlock" thing. I get that you guys handled clash royale and brawl stars and whatnot, but please don't bring that system to a game where the players just want to have fun, but they can't due to certain restrictions. I'll keep playing, just to see how it'll change.

    Well, I wanted to like this game. It's actually REALLY well done in terms of the guitar hero 'feel' and responsiveness to touch. It's a pretty app, and has a solid structure. Also the song patterns are very well designed.. Sadly, the rest is utter trash. This is a GROSS, shameless money grab of an app. It practically forces you to use the in-game currency to keep playing the game. And forget about getting new songs without spending money. It will take at least a week of playing to buy ONE song.

    Was a 5 star game until I filled my record boxes and literally couldn't play the game anymore. My options were wait hours for one to open, pay to open it faster, or uninstall. Easiest choice I've ever made. And I've spent lots of money on other mobile games. And will continue to do so. But those games don't lock me out of game play if I don't play. These dudes responding to reviews trying to justify this... Just say you're greedy and screw off.

    I've been an avid rhythm game player since the original DDR. This is a great mobile rhythm game, however you quickly get locked behind a pay wall. You need to remove the feature that prevents you from playing if all the crates are full. I've played most of sipercell's games and you don't have this paywall. I'd consider spending money if I wasn't forced to, in order to play. Practice is key to any rhythm game, and you've completely removed it from the game. Look into a battle pass type system.

    After playing it for a bit my only conclusion is this game desperately wants you to stop playing, so i'm going to do what the developers want me to do and uninstall. Completing songs get you lootboxes, you can only have 3 at time before it blocks you from playing, you can only unlock 1 at a time with 1-5 hour waits. It's not even possible to play a little bit and 'recharge' overnight. You will only ever be allowed to play a few minutes at a time.

    The game is extremely polished, engaging and fun. The sales tactics are extremely slimy, disruptive and predatory. I'm truly disappointed and it's not because of a game that I thought would be good and wasn't - it's because of a game that's exceptional and utterly ruined by the greedy, awful "gem" currency and "locked boxes" mechanic. I would pay a recurring amount to play as I want but can't because greed means I have to contend with a system designed to extract as much money as possible.

    The game is really great! I used to play a lot to these kind of "piano games" when I was younger and this is like the best experience I had with these games. But despire that, i can't give the 5-star rate that deserves; I really don't understand why they made it so you can't play the game when all the chest slots are full, It's the worst desision ever; if you want to play the game just to kill some time, you can't. Want to practice? too bad. If they change this, I would change my raiting.

    After you get past the first half hour of play, you get extremely limited until you pay money, and then you still barely get any play out of it. The game is fun for the 3 minutes at a time you can play, but three minutes every 3 hours is NOT a good ratio. They either need to reduce wait times, allow you to delete boxes, or allow practice without gaining points so that you can actually gain stars when you play. I have no problem paying when the value makes sense, but with this game it doesn't.

    I really want to enjoy this game, but the devs won't allow me to unless I pay up. This is due to how their box system is set up, you have 3 slots for music boxes that have a timer before they unlock, once they are all full you can't play anymore until a box is open (3-5hrs). You can then play about 2-3 songs before you earn enough credits for a new box which then locks you out again. Also note that you can only unlock one box at a time. Talk about throwing a good game concept away.

    This game has potential, but until they stop blocking you from playing while you have all the box slots full, this app will always be garbage. I play games on MY schedule, not some arbitrary time-gate's. If I have to wait to play your game I'm just going to find a different game to play. At least let us watch ads to open boxes. Get your money that way, instead of wasting my time and getting no money from me

    Thoroughly enjoyed the game until I was an hour into it. The fact that the game pushes in game purchases so much is annoying after a point. I have to wait for an hour and a half just so that a stupid case opens up because I don't any other slots left. That just drastically reduces the calming and enjoyable nature of the game. Was really looking forward to this game being released but now it's just one of the countless wait to play type games. Atleast try to reduce the time taken to open boxes.

    Good game, ruined by the fact that it is blatantly pay-to-play. You get to play a song maybe 3-4 times before you're locked out from all activity for some hours unless you're willing to pay for gems. Fine if the devs need to make their money, but If you're not an oil prince and don't have credit card to make in game purchases, which this game begs you to do, then don't waste your time installing, thinking you'll get much out of it.

    Waiting 3 to 5 hours to play 2 or 3 songs, just to have to wait another 3 to 5 hours is ridiculous. It's the only issue I have in the game, but making a game unplayable for 95% of the time unless you put money towards it is terrible enough for a 1 star. And stop lying about it being a "positive change", tell the truth that you just want more money. Explain to me exactly why waiting 5 hours to play 5 minutes of your game is a "positive change"?

    I was so impressed by how satisfying this game is, only to be punched in the balls by the HARD paywall, half an hour in. I've had my fair share of dogshit greedy games but this takes the cake. It made me so angry that I actually took the time to write this review so I can vent. Kudos to the developers for the gameplay. To everyone who approved the monetizing strategy: You're a disgrace! Don't bother sending me the automated reply, I couldn't care less.

    I was looking EXTREMELY forward to this game. And have been having fun so far. Rhythm game are one of the best. The inability to play with full case slots RUINS any sort of grind you could have, along with the total imbalance of gems. I'm not going to pay 2.50 for a case for a song I might not even like. I want to be able to grind and enjoy the game while my cases are being opened. Not have to get off and do something boring which is one of the reasons I got the game, or spend my life savings.

    While it has a nice song selection and it's easy to gain ingame currency to unlock stuff even if you lose, you fail a song as soon as you miss a note, and the moment you've unlocked all the cases currently available, you can't play until at least one has been opened after a certain amount of time (which starts as short as a few minutes and gets as long as 5-8 hours), or you get the rare offer to watch an ad, OR you just pay to immediately unlock stuff with real money. So it stops being fun fast.

    I really like this game! The graphics are good, and I like the swiping mechanic. The reasons I'm giving this one star, is because the loot box system is awful. They only let you unlock one at a time, and if your loot box slots are full, you can't play at all. Can't you at least let us play when the loot boxes are full, but we can't earn anything while they are? Like, come on! :(

    Totally Cool. I love this game! It's actually pretty sick for a music game. The movement with all these effects make the game look so smooth and good. And I almost never get ads, but the only ad I got was with IceCube in it. Come on, you can't be mad when you see IceCube! Yes, THE IceCube! This game is truly awesome can't wait to see it grow!!!

    Very fun but there's too much waiting behind paywalls. If the game had the option to buy a premium or full verion of the game without me having to wait 6 hours to partially unlock a RANDOM song, then I'd gladly pay for it. The game is actually quite fun, and I want to play more but I'm being forced to wait for hours and hours or pay for what's not even a full song but some shaven down version. No thank you. Please make this more consumer friendly!

    The game itself is old news, but the graphics makes it really enjoyable. Only issues I found ware to have a way to completely skip the timer when failing a song, and have directly a way to retry over and over, without the need to go into the main panel. Same as pausing a song allows only to quit and not restart. Also, not being able to play when the boxes are full is a big limitation. I could understand if I could play and not eran rewards, but forcing people to pay to play doesn't seem right

    Generally, Beatstar is a good game, especially for music fans. Easy to learn and play with some hard levels thrown in + a good song selection. Unlocking new songs without real money can be a bit slow, but the main problem I have is that you can not play songs while your song crates are full. As you level up, song crates take longer and longer to open, eventually letting them stack up, fill your slots, and make you unable to play for however long it takes to open them, which can be 1-5 hours.

    I like this game a lot. It's challenging, accurate to the beat of the song, and you can sync audio for Bluetooth devices (unlike a lot of similar games). Like everyone else, I wish there was a freeplay feature or something so you can play without having to wait 5 hours for a box slot to open. I also wish there was more of a choice in what songs we get, like maybe once a day we can pick from a few songs that show up in a box so people don't get stuck with songs they don't really know/like.

    Absolutely breathtaking! Incredibly smooth and satisfying. The menus are some of the cleanest layouts I have ever seen. The gameplay is super smooth and this game has an awesome way to make the levels progressively harder during the same song, allowing you to warm up while playing the song. Unique, beautiful, and most importantly fun to play!

    Very good rhythm game overall. However, being unable to play AT ALL while the boxes are full is extremely poor design. Wanting to play this game then realizing I have to wait another 2 hours is a good way to make me stop wanting to play the game. You should simply be able to play for no rewards while waiting on the boxes, especially with the way the game encourages perfecting songs, which requires many consecutive tries. I will gladly give this game 5 stars once this is fixed.

    The biggest issue to me is your 3 unlock cases. Once all 3 are filled, you cannot continue. You're thrown behind a paywall of "Pay X amount to unlock the box, play a few more songs and repeat". Understandably it's an overall good game, however if it's behind a paywall it'll make more people walk away than to stay. We pay when we're ready. Not because you tell us. If we can't unlock the "next box" oh well. Then we're limited to unlocking more stuff. But don't punish the player for the experience

    This is a great game, I played piano tiles and games like this and at first I thought that the game would be the exact same but both the graphics and gameplay is totally different. I love the swiping tiles(where instead of tapping you swipe in th direction of the arrow) it make it more advanced and more fun. I love the loot crates and that stuff, I have been playing for about an hour now and have only seen one ad. Thanks for making the game

    I'll start with the elephant in the room. At this point in time, the game is heavily pushing microtransactions. The mechanics are brilliant. They are simple, and they suit the songs quite well - which makes it a joy to play. My biggest complaint overall is the star system. Even if you fail a level, the stars still count towards your level, which i am not a fan of - though this is probably just personal preference. If possible, i would love to see some vocaloid as well, if possible.

    Like the game downloaded while I was at school. It has a large variety of songs, unlike those piano tiles games. No ads unless you watch an ad to get something. I don't like how I have to wait multiple hours to open the boxes just so I can play, i had to spend 20-25 opening a box an hour before just so i could keep playing. And i doesn't let you keep the song you did for the tutorial. Overall it's challenging and helps you focus on the beat. It does need improvement but it's a good game.

    When the boxes are full we can't play anymore, we must wait until one or two boxes are open, or you can speed up with diamonds, really?? What a greedy dev. Make it at least the players can play the old song that they alredy had 5 stars on that song. Not all player like to buy a lot of diamond. You need to fix that, dev. Good game after all, but it would be better if player can play while waiting the boxes open. Think about it. And i will add another 4 stars.

    This game is amazing, and it has the potential to keep on growing. Sadly, it is set back drastically by its loot system. After having all your slots occupied sadly you can't repeat nor play any of your songs. This is a major set back when it comes to player retention. Even if it's for a financial reason or to improve game longevity, it is clearly a set back and you'll lose a great deal of support for this game if you don't listen to your community/playerbase. Hope this is changed.

    Highly recommend this game. It's the love child of Guitar Hero, Rock Band, and Beat Saber, on your phone. Has a very clean and simple user interface. Only complaint I have, is that you can't keep playing to better your score, when you have all three cases locked at the bottom. I guess there has to be a money wall somewhere. But this ain't it chief. Offer to watch 2 or 3 ads for the longer waits and just 1 for the short wait times, at least. Or limit to just the songs you've played already.

    Good game, but my main issue with it: Doesn't play offline. Like why does a music game need to be always online. Also, I can't tell what it is exactly with the latency, but I think the latency varies between songs and songs, sometimes it also feels like it varies between stages. I've set my sync to 75ms but there's always sometimes somewhere, the sync doesn't feel right. Minor nitpicking, the menu animation is hella slow. Feature I'd like to see: how about let us adjust the vibration intensity.

    Rated it 5 before. But after few days noticed some hiccups. 1st. I like the venue system, but 3 stamina to rent a song makes me close the app. 2nd. Rewards aren't rewarding. You get a coin after playing a song, which can unlock a box(but can't open it). Once you unlock a box, you need to wait 3hrs or 8hrs to open it and get the reward. Box slot is 3. Once you get 3 boxes to open, playing the game won't give any reward. And it's a let down. I love the game, but it won't let me stay

    Awesome free rythem game with a good selection of songs. The controls are great and you can replay a song over and over again without an energy meter. Energy is only a thing in Venues (competitive/optional thing.) Gems are only used for continues, fast energy refills (venues), fast chest opens, and getting songs. Through normal play you will unlock almost all of the songs the game has. Biggest wish: More songs. Is there any way I can contact you to request songs to be added?

    The game is super fun for a casual player. Wont complain about box wait times because devs gotta make money too. Admittedly somewhat turned off knowing my venue stars will go with the next update, kills incentive to play. Suspicious there may be bots filling/"padding" venue lobbys. No option to compete in venues with friends list. Have lots of trouble getting swipes and taps to register, feels very inconsistent. Songs with lots of double taps are disatisfying to play. Santeria sucks plz deleted

    Great and amazing game with legit songs, unlike the other games that have cover versions. My only issue is that getting new music takes so long, and they only provide like 1-2 mins of play time so it gets boring fast. Its F2P friendly, but takes a ton of time. It can be sped up but i dont think spending a couple dollars just for a snippet of the song is something worth purchasing.

    The game is good it has amazing visuals and I'm enjoying it alot, I'm already at Venue 8 after only a few months of playing and grinding stars. My only concerns are to improve the friends tab (easily add friends) and add more Korean or Japanese songs, cause I think the game lacks songs from other countries. But other than that the game is fun!

    I use to loooooove this game and play it every day but I'm probably going to delete it now. The update is removing venues which were fun and the best way to earn stars. It's hard to earn stars just off songs as I have almost 5 stars on all of them. How am I suppose to earn more if the venue's get taken away and I have no new songs? Also they are removing the stars that we earned through venues... For me that's a quite a few stars and I'm not impressed with that.

    It WAS a thoroughly enjoyable game - it won't be once the new update comes through which not only uncouples the venues from the journey but takes all already earned stars from the venues away and forces progression through the regular list. It's obvious that progression will only be an option if you BUY more songs. Considering I have maxed out nearly all the songs in my current list it looks like it's the end of the road for Beatstar. Pity.

    It's fun to play (mostly) but I've noticed something weird, I'm missing notes I know I hit perfect. Even after syncing I'm still missing notes on songs I've done without missing any. With the recent updates the game is getting better, I however lost my account and am in the midst of getting it back. Edit: They got it back 100% with everything I had.

    It's fun. Not too challenging, but not too simple. The audio stutters a lot for me like it's poor quality. Hope more songs gets added and maybe a way to earn gems or watch ads for gems. Wish the note hits were something like good, great, and perfect. Hard to tell from perfect and perfect+ when you're playing. It lets players know if they need to adjust their timing more.

    Wow!!! Just a few minutes in and am definitely hooked already. Was really missing the Tap Tap rhythm games and this one really brought more to the stage. I also like how the beats coming in are bigger. Just the right size for my thumbs actually. Will surely enjoy more especially as I unlock new songs. Thanks to the amazing developer of this awesome game! Easy 5 🌟

    Recently experienced a spike in a number of issues, such as sudden drop in frame rates mid song, random loss of streaks (sometimes when there is no note to be tapped, or even if it says perfect timing on screen). Can tap double notes at the same time, but somehow one gets perfect+ while the other is great, so streak lost. Also have issues with swiping getting picked up by the game (ie swiped but says missed note), or hold then swipe showing perfect/perfect+ but losing streak.

    only been playing for about an hour now but this game is alright I find the speed of the tiles way! to slow and for me personally the slower the harder it is. it needs to go faster atleast 1.5× and why is the point of contact up so danm high. the bottom is basically a waste of space nothing there. and sometimes I find itll give me a great even tho it was perfect on the mark 😐 really annoying when your on a streak but ok other than that it's ok

    it is over ga great game, buy would have been nicer if there can be options for users to adjust the speed of the notes coming down. if there are actual softening of sound or some form of interaction for getting the note correct, it will improve overall immersiveness. Best rhythm game I've played is still DJmax, so gotta give this game a 4 out of 5 stars.

    this game reminds me of when I used to sneakily play Guitar Hero on my Aunt's java phone and get into lots of trouble when she finds out. Gave me loads of nostalgia. I have spent years trying to find the perfect game similar to Guitar Hero and this gives me joy. I love music and absolutely love this game. thank you

    The game overall is very good and fun, like Magic Tiles 3, but way better. It also gives me the feeling that I'm playing on a console. Professionally made. Well done, you made me happy. However, one thing you can improve on is to add a comfortable settings. What I mean is to make it so that the "Perfect Pad" can be moved vertically based on people's preferences. This way, everyone can play it comfortably. But seriously, other than that, it's well done :)
